Jordan RAMILOWSKI, PhD (Professor & Deputy Director)

ジョーダン・ラミロフスキー(教授)

Headshot of Dr. Jordan RAMILOWSKI

Jordan RAMILOWSKI, PhD is a Professor at the Advanced Medical Research Center Bioinformatics Laboratory at the Yokohama City University (YCU) and a Visiting Scientist at RIKEN Yokohama. Jordan’s research focuses mainly on understanding regulatory roles of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in immune cell differentiation and on cell–cell communication. In his research, Jordan uses a variety of computational tools (nf-core pipelines, R statistical software, Python, etc.) and methods to analyze bulk and single cell Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data (RNA-seq, Hi-C, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq data and more). Prof. RAMILOWSKI has been an instructor for our BI Practical courses and a lecturer in the Current Trends in Bioinformatics course since 2020.

Sakura Eri MAEZONO, PhD (Assistant Professor)

サクラ・エリ・マエゾノ(助教)

Headshot of Dr. Sakura Eri MAEZONO

Sakura Eri MAEZONO, Ph.D is an Assistant Professor at the Advanced Medical Research Center Bioinformatics Laboratory at the Yokohama City University (YCU). Dr. Maezono graduated with a PhD in Human Biology from Tsukuba University (Japan). She joined us from the industry, where she was primarily developing bioinformatics & ML algorithms for early cancer detection using multiple programming languages (R statistical software, Python, Google apps script etc.). Sakura is skilled in Big Data Analytics with extensive experience in analyzing NGS and clinical data, and likes to create interactive data analysis web-tools. Dr. MAEZONO is an instructor for our BI Practical courses and a lecturer in the Current Trends in Bioinformatics course.
